  1. Course Booking

    Open courses held at Markham Vale Environment Centre, Chesterfield:
    Any booking that you make will be treated as provisional until the Application Form has been received by us either online or by email.

    Inhouse courses held at client premises:
    Any booking will be treated as provisional until such time as confirmation has been made – which can be by email – from the person able to give permission and a purchase order number (if applicable) has been received. The Application Form will be emailed to the main contact for distribution to all attendees and all completed forms MUST be received by us no later than 2 weeks prior to the start date of the course.

    All courses:
    Bookings made on behalf of a company or employer must be accompanied by a purchase order requisition where applicable. If a purchase order is not supplied then we will assume that this is not the policy of the organisation, unless otherwise notified.
    Invoices will be sent to the relevant person identified on the application form with a payment due date. This must be adhered to at all times.
    Should payment still be outstanding when the student has completed their course, their certificate will not be claimed until such time as the invoice has been paid in full.

    Course Format:
    Jade Solutions (UK) Ltd reserves the right to alter the total amount and format of training from time to time in line with best practice and /or Awarding Body requirements. The practical workshop training will normally take place in the same venue throughout your Programme, however Jade reserves the right to change the venue should this become necessary and unavoidable. Workshops dates will be notified prior to the start of the course however Jade reserves the right to change these dates if such a change becomes unavoidable.

  2. Cancellation Policy

    Cancellations by Students:
    For any Programmes paid in full and cancelled by the student:
    For long term programmes (e.g. CET/DET) any refunds will be at the discretion of Jade Solutions (UK) Ltd and will depend on the length of the programme, when you choose to cancel and what you have used in that time. As a guide any workshops will be charged at £300 per day and observations undertaken at £150 each. In all cases a £500 deposit from the original payment will be retained by Jade.
    For short courses (e.g. AET) any refund will depend on when you choose to cancel unless you are able to transfer to a later course. Cancellations of less than 5 working days will incur a 20% charge which will be retained form the original payment. Cancellations of less than 2 working days will incur a 50% charge.
    Cancellation terms for Inhouse Client Courses only
    Between 2 and 1 weeks before the Course is scheduled to take place 25% of the total booking value will be charged.
    Less than 1 week before the Course is scheduled to take place 50% of the total booking value.

    Postponement:
    Should you wish to postpone your Course, the acceptance of this will be at the sole discretion of Jade Solutions (UK) Ltd and maybe subject to an administration charge up to the value of the cancellation charge due at the date when the postponement is made.
    In such circumstances you agree to reimburse Jade Solutions (UK) Ltd for any costs incurred arising from the consequential cancellation or postponement of Jade’s arrangement with third parties on your behalf, if applicable.

    Cancellation by Jade Solutions (UK) Ltd:
    In the unlikely event that Jade has to cancel your booking, you will receive all your advance payments that are not associated with Non Refundable stage payments or deposits, although Jade will not have any other liability. You have the option to transfer any payments to later course dates should this be acceptable for both parties.

  3. Liability

    Upon confirmation of your booking, you will become liable to pay the full sum of the price of the booking confirmed within 30 days of the invoice date.

  4. Force majeure

    Jade Solutions (UK) Ltd is not liable for failure to perform its obligations to the extent that the failure is caused by any factor beyond its reasonable control.

  5. Allergies and health conditions

    (where lunch and refreshments are provided on open courses by Jade Solutions)

    Where a person attending a course, at any open course venue, and suffers from any form of health condition, allergic reaction – dietary or other, it is their total responsibility to make every endeavour to protect themselves in an appropriate way. Jade Solutions (UK) Ltd will not accept any responsibility or liability for any outcome relating to health conditions, allergies or other associated conditions, if not notified on the application form at the booking stage.
    In the case of inhouse courses it is the responsibility of the client company to ensure any dietary or health conditions are considered and accounted for.

  6. General Student Terms & Conditions

    All practical training sessions will be provided by an appropriately qualified trainer nominated by Jade (a “Jade trainer”), and all home study will be completed in your own time using Jade VLE and online systems.

    a) Responsibilities & Commitment

    i. It is the learner’s responsibility to ensure they meet the eligibility criteria required to undertake one of our programmes, however guidance will be given by Jade staff.
    ii. You must reply to messages from your Tutor – whether these are via email or on the VLE (for long programmes such as CET and DET). An awarding body requirement is evidence of two-way communication throughout the programme. We must also show timely progress and as a result you must keep to the deadlines given in your Course Handbook, unless you have an agreed deferment with your tutor. If not, we may incur awarding body sanctions.
    iii. To follow the advice and recommendations of your Jade trainer at all times.
    iv. To attend all workshop dates as set for your Programme (unless other arrangements have been previously agreed with Jade and/or your Programme Tutor).
    v. Failure to attend all necessary workshops and submit work to agreed deadlines may result in you being unable to complete the qualification and you may incur additional costs in order to complete.
    vi. Jade may alter the total amount and format of training from time to time in line with best practice and /or Awarding Body requirements.
    vii. The practical workshop training should take place in the same venue throughout your Programme, however Jade reserves the right to change the venue should this become necessary.
    viii. Workshops dates will be notified prior to the start of the course however Jade reserves the right to change these dates if such a change becomes unavoidable.

    b) Caveats

    i. Jade cannot guarantee qualification achievement, but will work with you to maximise your chances of achievement.
