To ensure effective learning, all trainers/assessors need to understand and be able to use these skills as a minimum:
- the roles and responsibilities of a trainer/tutor
- planning, facilitaing and delivering inclusive teaching and learning
- understanding assessment
Our training courses will deliver these skills and much, much more.
The L3 Award in Education and Training is an introduction to teaching that will give an insight into the roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training, how to plan and deliver inclusive teaching/training sessions and how to assess and give constructive and developmental feedback. You will need to complete all units to achieve the award. For our open programme we have chosen to cover the following units:
Unit 301 Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training
Unit 302 Understanding and using inclusive approaches in education and training
Unit 305 Understanding assessment in education and training
The team work closely together to provide a variety of quality programmes in Education and Training. Learners interviewed commented that the ongoing support from the team gave them confidence and guidance to complete the qualifications. The assessor guidance is supportive and constructive and learner feedback confirmed satisfaction with the delivery and support provided by the team.
As part of your course fee you will receive a copy of the definitive textbook “The Award in Education and Training” by Ann Gravells, published by Learning Matters – Sage Publications Ltd.
The Award is the first introductory qualification currently recommended for teachers, trainers and assessors who work in the education and training sector, particularly those new into or wish to get into teaching – they may then go on, if required, to undertake either the Certificate or Diploma qualifications.
The three units above will qualify you with a better understanding of:
- planning and delivering a teaching session
- the role of the tutor
- the training cycle
- meeting individual learner needs
- teaching and learning methods
- evaluation strategies
